The Best, The Worst, and the WTF… Of Oscars 2008 ~ Special Guest Post

Lately I've gotten a few offers to co-write/guest post on other people's blogs. I think that its a wonderful idea and I've been waiting for someone to actually go through with it - and they did! I may just make this a semi-regular thing. So now, I present to you a very good friend of mine's thoughts on the Oscars last night:

Note: Do remember that these are the thoughts from another person. If you don't like it, don't dare take it out on me. This is merely to provide readers with a fresh (and hopefully comedic) look on new things I myself won't really write about.

The Best, The Worst, and the WTF… Of Oscars 2008
By Brandon Lewis

Best
In a big F.U. to its own country, the Academy awarded all of the big acting honors to European actors! Daniel Day-Lewis, a British actor and previous winner for 1989’s My Left Foot, won for his movie There Will Be Blood. French actress Marion Cottillard (don’t feel stupid, I never heard of her either) won Best Actress for La Vie En Rose. In another upset, British actress Tilda Swinton upset acclaimed actress Ruby Dee for Best Supporting Actress. Finally, Spanish actor Javier Bardem took home Best Supporting Actor.

Stripper Glory. Diablo Cody won Best Original Screenplay for the movie Juno, but that’s not the best news. New York’s favorite “tell people’s business” newspaper The New York Post revealed that she used to be a stripper before she became the most sought-after writer in the business (that no one has heard of). Who said strippers don’t have talent? LOL.

Worst
Michael Who? Unless you are a major movie buff, you probably never heard of 4 of the 5 nominated Best Picture nominees. Little promotion made Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, and Atonement strangers to viewers, leaving little to care about.

Where Are You? No offense to Miley Cyrus or Heidi Klum, but where the hell was the movie stars? Remember the days of Tom and Nicole, Ben and Jennifer (Lopez), damn, even Cher! Instead, we get The Rock. The Rock!!! Are you serious? Next year, please, get the actors back.

Jon Stewart’s opening monologue. It was painfully unfunny. It was so obvious that the writers who were just three weeks ago were striking whipped that up at the very last minute. Even Jon Stewart, who has been a good host in the past, looked uncomfortable up there.

Honestly, the whole damn show sucked. From the out-of-place, choppy clip shows to the weird award ordering, the usually perfect award ceremony began to show some cracks. Yeah, it was always long, but seeing those great moments that only the Oscars could deliver made up for it. There were none. It was a glorified clip show, and people viewed it that way. Viewership was down 21% this year. I think it’s time for a tune up of Hollywood’s oldest vehicle.

  1. I'd like for Mr. Lewis to kindly fuck off if he is saying anything negative about There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Daniel Day Lewis, or Javier Bardem. No Country and TWBB are two of the greatest movies of all time, and Lewis and Bardem are amazing actors.

Also - major movie buff? Opinions like that are the reason we get shit like Epic Movie, Date Movie and Meet the Spartans.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Addendum with facts- There Will Be Blood has, since opening, made $31,619,154. At about $10 a ticket, that's more than 3 million tickets sold for it. No Country For Old Men has made $61,336,965. At $10 a ticket, that's more than 6 million tickets. Neither of these are obscure movies. Anyone who regularly watches TV will have seen many commercials for any oscar-nominated film. An oscar nomination in a major category automatically keeps a movie from being obscure.

All due respect, but, Mr. Lewis, you, sir, are wrong. Very wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Mitchell, I do respect your opinion. but there are a few issues.

One, I never said that No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood were bad movies. Nor did I say that Javier Bardem and Daniel Day-Lewis were bad actors. I'm sure they were great movies with great performances. That doesn't excuse the fact that both movies were small movies that relatively unknown.

You mentioned facts about their box office grosses. There Will Be Blood made approximately $31.6 million at box office since it won the Oscar. Did you know that 74% of the gross came after it was nominated? Even still, $31.6 million is nothing to salivate over, especially since it only made $10 million when the cost is subtracted. No Country For Old Men faired better, but still 6 million tickets out of a 300 million population?

Also, high profile, notable movies usually draw in high Oscar ratings (1998, when Titanic was nominated, had the most viewers ever). So, how do you explain this year's being the lowest rated in history? The honest truth? There was no concrete reason to see or care because of the 20 million who watched, only a fraction actually the two movies you listed. That doesn't take away from it's greatness, but its the truth.

As for Javier Bardem and Daniel Day-Lewis, I, as well as everyone else, believed they deserved to win, and I am glad they did win.

I appreciate your comments, but I am not wrong,

    ReplyDelete
  4. Mitchell why don't you fuck off everyone is entitled to their own opinions and quite frankly i agree with brandon, if you have a different opinion i think ur welcome to voice it, as you did, but don't go around telling people that they are wrong, you can't be wrong about your own personal opinion.
so telling brandon to fuck off and that he is wrong...is wrong....you can say u don't agree with him and then say i mean look at this no country for old men made a lot of money, blah blah blah, the way you went about making your own opinion known was, to me, quite offensive.

Love you Brandon and your blog
    <3

    ReplyDelete
  5. Hey, it's my OPINION (since you have your panties in a bunch about that term) that he's wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  6. ok yea i said that it was fine for you to voice your opinion i just thought that the way you went about doing it was offensive

and again you cannot be wrong about your own opinion

i understand you think he is wrong but instead of saying you're wrong, you should say i disagree because obviously he's gonna think that you're wrong, and it is therefore a disagreement and so should be acknowledged as such

    ReplyDelete
  7. I understand your point, but to me, "I disagree" is weak phrasing. "You're wrong" is much more blunt, and to the point.

    ReplyDelete
  8. well to me that makes you sound like an asshole so kudos to be a jerk.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ya'll are a bunch of funny honkeys.

    ReplyDelete
  10. There are ways you can disagree with someone's opinion without acting like a total dick in the process. mitchell should look into those if he treats everyone's opinion like that.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm flattered you guys find my post so contentious.

    ReplyDelete
  12. There are ways you can disagree with someone's opinion without acting like a total dick in the process. mitchell should look into those if he treats everyone's opinion like that.

    thank you whoever this is
    my point exactly

    ReplyDelete
  13. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't treat everyone's opinion like that. I only treat those opinions I don't respect like that. And anything that disrespects Jon Stewart, No Country For Old Men and There Will Be Blood deserves about as much respect as the Bush Administration's foreign policy.

(Saying that they leave "little to care about" is disrespectful to such excellent films.)

    ReplyDelete
  15. mitchell, as you can see, your manner of expressing your opinion sucks. that, my friend, is a fact i can verify beyond a shadow of a doubt. oh, and the phrases "i disagree" and "you're wrong" are NOT interchangeable. especially when you're dealing with opinion. opinion can't be wrong. you either disagree or agree. please, help yourself to a dictionary/thesaurus, so you can verify that.

    ReplyDelete
  16. oh, and it was i who left the anonymous comment. not only do i tend to have a penchant for anonymity, i, uh, couldn't log in at the time.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Go Wilbert, it's ya birthday, uh huh! Alright!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Agreeing with someone is believing they are correct. As such, disagreeing is believing they are wrong. I disagreed, so I believed he was wrong. As such, I said he was wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  19. so then state your beliefs as such instead of trying to pass them off as fact. again, "you're wrong," and "i believe you're wrong" are NOT interchangeable.

    ReplyDelete
  20. To me, he was wrong. It's as simple as that. If, from my point of view, someone is wrong, then I will not sugarcoat my phrasing. I will say that they are wrong. Just like you are right now.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I did not disrespect NCFOM or There Will Be Blood.

Did I say, "Those movies f-ing suck!"?

    No!

My point was that the general audience would have a hard time connecting with movies they have barely heard of. I did, which is what made the Oscar viewing experience very unpleasant.

For God's sake, if No Country For Old Men was a bad movie, then why the hell did it win an Oscar?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jesus chirst mitchell i love jon stewert and im sure no country for old men was great

but to say that you do not respect someone's opinion like that is so completely ignorant and foolish. I am frankly flabbergasted at your outright disrespect and disregard of someone who i think is a very respectable person and a good writer. and to compare a student who is merely stating an opinion about the OSCARS to BUSH is down right infuriating

    ReplyDelete
  23. Brandon, to me, your comments expressed disrespect. 'nuff said.

Hannah... I just have one question. Is Jesus Chirst related to Jesus Christ?

    ReplyDelete
  24. This is like the Presidential Debate. We have Barack Obama over here with Lewis and Wilbert and a feisty Hilary Clinton which Mitch seems to be following.

    ReplyDelete
  25. brandon, there's no need for you to explain yourself or attempt to justify your opinion further or anything like that. we get it. ryan's disclaimer somewhat explicitly states that you are posting your opinion about the oscars. you managed to remain somewhat mature throughout this hullabaloo. as for mitchell, he behaved with the professionalism, maturity, and arrogance of a drunk man possessing a large weapon. mitchell, again, stop trying to pass your opinion off as fact. it's not sugarcoating. it's called being accurate.

    ReplyDelete
  26. How were my comments disrespectful?

I was explaining my post to you, since it's apparently so difficult for you to understand.

    ReplyDelete
  27. oh, and by the way, you have got some fucking nerve comparing the oscars and anything related or involved with it to the barrage of incompetence that is the bush administration. you need to sit in a corner now.

and these word verification things suck.

    ReplyDelete
  28. it's called a common phrase
it's used by many people to express frustration at something irritating
i am not myself religious but sometimes the phrase jesus christ slips out, as it is often used by the people around me

and brandon's statement may have been disrespectful to you, but in actual reality they were polite criticisms about a public event that was not unlike other reviews made in public newspapers read throughout the country.

if you have a problem with this blog i wonder what you have to say about some of the newspaper articles that might critique the event

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh, and BTW, calling There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men two of the greatest movies of all time is a bit of stretch, don't ya think?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Brandon, if you don't think that calling two of the greatest movies of our time "little to care about" isn't disrespectful, then I will personally pay your way through etiquette school.

Hannah, read my comment more clearly. And, as far as I know, newspapers don't have comment pages ;)

Wilbert, I was not trying to pass off my opinion as fact.

Crispin, for comparing me to Hillary Clinton, I might well have to shank you.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Damn straight, Crispin!

There's having a mature discussion of one of the worst Oscar ceremonies on record, and then there's being rude.

And for the record, I stand by my review of the Oscars. It's simply the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Aha. And now who is trying to pass off opinion as fact?

    ReplyDelete
  33. "Little to care about."

If you were watching an award ceremony awarding a movie you've never heard of or seen before that night, its a logical feeling to not care much. Its insane to think that people would automatically fall in love with a movie simply because it won an award. Or because you say so.

    ReplyDelete
  34. mitchell i think you should go through etiquette school

he was expressing how he felt about a movie and it left him with little to care about

and don't fucking wink at me thank you very much

and what wilbert is saying is that by saying "you're wrong" it is as though you are stating a fact

if you were to say "i believe that you are wrong" or "i disagree" or "in my opinion i believe..." then that would be more of a decent opinion stmt its not "weak phrasing" it's HOW TO BE POLITE

    ReplyDelete
  35. My mistake. Its an opinion.

At least I'm mature enough to realize a mistake like that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't have time to rebuttal your bitching Mitch. You're full of rubbish, end of story.

    ReplyDelete
  37. mitchell, you continually promote your opinion as if it is fact, and let us not forget, the evidence is in your face. oh, and you are definitely not one to check people for being disrespectful. oh, and as for the ability to comment on one's like/dislike of any given newspaper article, it is quite possible.

and you might want to slip into some kevlar.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I am done trying to educate the unenlightened. I bid you all a good night, and thank you for the hours of pure entertainment.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Aww, Mitch turned the channel off.
I guess I'll do my math homework.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Educate the unenlightened?

You are suggesting that two movies that BARELY ANYONE HAS HEARD OF are two of the greatest movies of all time.

You are seriously telling me that these two movies deserve rank among Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Gone With The End, and The Godfather?

    And we're unenlightened. GMAFB

    ReplyDelete
  41. mmhm. i will express my opinion. in my opinion, you are definitely not one to criticize one's lack of enlightenment.

i wonder what ryan thinks about this series of commentary. he should sound off too.

    ReplyDelete
  42. well since you haven't been mature throughout this whole thing and i find your last post to insulting as "enlightened" as you may think you are I BELIEVE that you are mistaken for thinking that you are trying to educate us
how are u even trying to teach us something all you are doing is defending your own ass
and as a closer i will stop my maturity for a second because i think that it is time to say this

but go you have fucking pretty much been told the fuck off so please just realize that you possibly made a mistake and stop arguing with the 3 or 4 people who are trying to educate YOU on how to be a nicer less asshole-ish person

you could learn something from what we have said
and you have been rude and disrespectful to all of us and for that you might want to try apologizing even though i know you won't it's just in my opinion what you should do

    ReplyDelete
  43. Brandon, you clearly have not seen these films. Go see them.

Wilbert, do not make me irritated with you. To use an overused quote, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry.

Though, I like that you're soliciting further opinions, perhaps you could ask... hmm...

Ariel? Or Chloe? Or Maxiel? Or Serena?

    Hmm?

    ReplyDelete
  44. "we don't like when you're angry?"

We don't like you period! I did respect, but all of that went out the window with your classless, rude, and obnoxious attacks on a dissenting opinion of yours.

    ReplyDelete
  45. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Brandon hun
I totally Agree with you and that you have the right to speak whatever is on your mind
but mitch your are too jsut dont be a dick about it

    ReplyDelete
  47. DAMN STRAIGHT BRANDON!!

seriously mitchell fuck off you have been overruled by those of us who have a sense of decency
i suggest you try to go find some

    ReplyDelete
  48. mitchell... you don't shoot someone in the knees for saying something you don't like hearing. and let us not forget, i can say some things that can be easily and severely misinterpreted. i suggest you watch yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Can I just say that Jon Stewart was funny considering the circumstances. Furthermore, yes, the movies were relatively unknown. Look at Juno, that was an indie comedy, yet on the same stage as No Country and TWBB. Mitchell, no one is saying your wrong and no one is saying you cant voice ur opinion. Theres is simply a right way and a wrong way. You would be held in contempt of court for that kinda shit dude.

    ReplyDelete
  50. yea... whatever neph said hehe love you guys <3

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thank you Joanna and Neph, especially for proving my goddamn point!

    ReplyDelete
  52. And Neph, BTW, I will grant the fact that considering the circumstances, Jon Stewart did the best he could. The fact that he was even able to go up there shows a level of commitment that garners my respect.

    ReplyDelete
  53. lol and thank you hannah for telling joanna and neph about the blog

    lol

    i love all you ppl

    ReplyDelete
  54. Y'know, I just realized, this whole shitstorm is Hannah's fault. I had a condition in my first post - "I'd like for Mr. Lewis to kindly fuck off IF he is saying anything negative about There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Daniel Day Lewis, or Javier Bardem." If Hannah hadn't overreacted to my post, this would all be done with by now. Rather entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  55. neph is right... let's hold 'im in contempt of court... and mitchell... i am so very disappointed in you right now.

    ReplyDelete
  56. uhm i don't think i overreacted i never really called you out for the IF part i called you out for the "YOU ARE WRONG VERY WRONG" part

    so fuck you

    ReplyDelete
  57. but why does he have to fuck of for saying something negative? lemme try something: tom clancy novels suck! (this is my opinion) doesnt mean its wrong now does it?)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Tell me Mitch?
Do you like to get butt fucked by everyone around you?
    Does that "make yours"?

    ReplyDelete
  59. i honestly don't think hannah was overreacting. mitchell, i think you failed to display a modicum of maturity. overreacting? well, don't smoke in a room full of ether and be surprised when you get blown up. and it's interesting how you can derive entertainment from getting checked. thoroughly.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Actually Neph, objectively, Clancy's novels do suck. They're formulaic, and rather simple.

And, Crispin, you seem to think I care about all of this. Honestly, I don't. I really don't. I posted the provocative comment because I could, and I did it on a whim. That's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh Neph, don't say that!

We don't to make Mitchell "everything i say is right" McConeghy angry!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Good one, Brandon, that got a chuckle out of me.

Doesn't anyone realize that I'm not taking this seriously?

    ReplyDelete
  63. so when you agree with someone it's ok to say that whatever it is sucks

well that is also a rude way of reviewing something
something BRANDON LEWIS WAS MATURE ABOUT
he critiqued in a way that wasn't disrepectful

what if i liked these novels(i have never read them this is a hypothetical situation) now i'm not gonna go and say no you are wrong they are awesome

i might say something along the lines of
"oh really?...i like his books.....what about them sucks?"

    something like that

NOWHERE did i say "you are wrong"

    ReplyDelete
  64. Mitchell, now that I think about it, you never responded to my first comment after yours. The one where I basically dismantled your argument without any real thought.

    ReplyDelete
  65. ok then mitchy, so why dont you just drop this whole thing? you start bringing in numbers and such when the point of this whole thing is that your just sttuborn and rude. and fyi, juno has made over $120 million, proving that when you compare nominees, the movies were not as well known

    ReplyDelete
  66. oh and mitch

if you didn't take this seriously
i doubt you would be defending yourself or even responding to our posts at all

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh, and BTW, Hannah Montana's Concert movie outsold both of your cinematic gems!

    A freaking concert movie!

    Hop off

    ReplyDelete
  68. whoahhh no one blaims this shit on one of my best friends,
    hannah told me about this
and the only person who should be balmmed
    is you mitchell
for continuing to write back with more shit
no offense but we all get it
we have the right to express our points and disagree and agree but thats all not going back and recommenting this blog by the same thing

    ReplyDelete
  69. Hannah, you wonder why I respond to all of this? Entertainment. That's all. No more, no less. This is supremely entertaining to me.

    ReplyDelete
  70. i'm definitely gonna have to agree with hannah on this one. oh, and by the way, acting immature and ignoring this conflict that you've triggered has only helped to support our argument.

    ReplyDelete
  71. well aren't you just a motherfucking piece of crap

im so glad to be your entertainment for the night

    ReplyDelete
  72. Then how freaking pathetic are you?

You have to derive entertainment from making a obnoxious, rude response to a simple article.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Jeez, people, I'm just messing around, don't take this shit too seriously!

    ReplyDelete
  74. did u just wanted a change of entertainment since your normal night consists of a bottle of lotion and a playboy?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Inventive. Did it take you all day, or just 12 hours?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Squibble Squabble go the children.

I can't believe something like this got to 76 comments. Jeeze.

    ReplyDelete
  77. we take this seriously because you were attacking a close friend

now you on the other hand
    we don't take seriously

    ReplyDelete
  78. Mitchell, you still haven't responded to my first comment.

Seriously, I want to know your thoughts. You can still prove you can have an actual, contentious conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Jeez, I wasn't attacking him, goddamn. Seriously, calm down.

    ReplyDelete
  80. apparently he can't

i say it's over and mitchell should just wave a white flag obviously he is a jackass and started this shit for no reason

and he obviously has nothing to say to your post cuz he can't prove anything

    ReplyDelete
  81. calm down?! i think we've been taken past the point of calming down. you've fucked up thoroughly. normally,i would suggest you apologize for your erroneous ways, but we all pretty much know it wouldn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I now think its about time for me to step in:

Everyone, I believe that this is now the time for this to come to a close. Before anyone gets hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Can you believe the bollocks on this honkey?
Anyways I'm out to that pillow.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I want an answer to my question first, Ryan.

    ReplyDelete
  85. see? at least someone here has some class to try and end this thing.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Okay, let me respond paragraph by paragraph -

---While most of the popularity came after the nominations, they really weren't unknown. Parodies and satires of these movies abounded, they were mentioned on tons of news shows and late-night shows. They were not unknown.
    ---------------------------------------

You mentioned facts about their box office grosses. There Will Be Blood made approximately $31.6 million at box office since it won the Oscar. Did you know that 74% of the gross came after it was nominated? Even still, $31.6 million is nothing to salivate over, especially since it only made $10 million when the cost is subtracted. No Country For Old Men faired better, but still 6 million tickets out of a 300 million population?

    ---I've already mostly addressed this
    ---------------------------------------

Also, high profile, notable movies usually draw in high Oscar ratings (1998, when Titanic was nominated, had the most viewers ever). So, how do you explain this year's being the lowest rated in history? The honest truth? There was no concrete reason to see or care because of the 20 million who watched, only a fraction actually the two movies you listed. That doesn't take away from it's greatness, but its the truth.

    Popularity ≠ quality.

    ReplyDelete
  87. everyone remember what i said. there is no need for ill feelings. lets just try to calm down a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  88. ryan my manzzzzz haha wat it do lol and yea we all chill here just one person aint =)

    ReplyDelete
  89. You just proved you still don't understand my post.

I never said the movies were less quality because they weren't popular. Less popular movies = Lower Oscar ratings. Its a proven fact.

    ReplyDelete
  90. mitchell like we've all been saying, the point of all of this is simply the way you adressed this. "I'd like for Mr. Lewis to kindly fuck off if he is saying anything negative about There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Daniel Day Lewis, or Javier Bardem. No Country and TWBB are two of the greatest movies of all time, and Lewis and Bardem are amazing actors." Thats what you said. You dont see even the slightly bit of impoliteness here?

    ReplyDelete
  91. haha joanna we are gonna have dumb hot babies together lmao

    i love you

word we are all calm it's just one person seems to think that he is hilARIOus
    when he isn't

    and i agree with brandon

    ReplyDelete
  92. i think ray charles could see the impoliteness in that. and he's blind. and dead.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Your original post, Brandon, phrased it not as a comment on their popularity. You phrased it as an attack on the movies.

    ReplyDelete
  94. yezar, u got that right hun and iight THE END TO THIS POST, brandon ur right , love ur posts and ur opinions, the end ! =) oh and i love u hannah

    ReplyDelete
  95. haha wilbert
    now THAT is hilarious

and uhm i'd like to thank neph for bringing back the point of what we were talking about

no one really said anything about ratings

just the impoliteness of your statement to brandon

i really think an apology is in order here...

    ReplyDelete
  96. Well, given that this comment page is so popular, I think I'll toss in a plug for my new blog - http://tboffense.blogspot.com/

And, I admit, my phrasing was not as impartial as it could have been.

    ReplyDelete
  97. thank youuuu. now i can sleep in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  98. "Unless you are a major movie buff, you probably never heard of 4 of the 5 nominated Best Picture nominees. Little promotion made Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, and Atonement strangers to viewers, leaving little to care about."

How am I attacking the movies? I am stating a fact. Chances are, if you really loved movies, you likely wouldn't be familiar with 4 out of the 5 movies nominated for best picture.

    ReplyDelete
  99. mitchell, if you consider that to be close to an apology, then you've some serious problems.

i'd be nicer, but i'm suddenly in a less-than-charitable mood.

    ReplyDelete
  100. wooop woop internets are serious business, guys!

    ReplyDelete
  101. word i'm out

    i love you brandon
    keep posting!!!

btw why would you put your blog where no one here likes you?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Hannah, you've obviously never heard of this great thing called "publicity"

Oh and nice to see you neph, it's been a while!

  103. You know what they say, any publicity is good publicity.

And Brandon, looking back, it is not too insulting to the movies, but the phrasing is slightly grating.

    ReplyDelete
  104. yes, all publicity is good publicity. i should post the link to my blog too, but i'm debating whether i should do that.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Afraid mister internets troll is gonna get all up on that?

    ReplyDelete
  106. mitchL, you stupid bastard

    ReplyDelete
  107. Mitchell = Epic fail

  108. Anonymous is not hot shit in a wine glass, he's cold diarreah in a dixie cup.

Now then. Let's try and remember where that comes from. First one to guess right gets the prize.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Well, I am sorry that my wording was offensive to you, Mitchell.

I will stand by it, however (except for Jon Stewart thing. I think I was taking out my frustration at the boring ceremony on someone who did as good a job he could do in that situation).

    ReplyDelete
  110. Mr. Lewis, I propose peace, and offer a formal apology for the royally hilarious shitstorm that my comments caused.

    ReplyDelete
  111. hey, not to slash healing wounds open, but those apologies were terrible. i can't speak for anyone else, but i can say that i somewhat appreciate the effort the two of you are making to call a ceasefire. if only i believed it...

    ReplyDelete
  112. Wilbert, your thinly veiled attempt at starting the shitstorm back up has failed. Remarkably.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Wilbert, I need to see you in my office.

    ReplyDelete
  114. i'm not attempting anything. i'm stating my OPINION. i don't act as if my opinion is in a different echelon than that of others, and i don't mince words. it's painstaking obvious that neither of you want to apologize to each other. again, it's opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I think we are tired of beating this dead horse, that's we agree to a ceasefire.

Also, BTW, of the 120 posts, only like 20 were about the Oscars.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Wilbert, was that a dig at Mitchell, the whole echelon thing?

    ReplyDelete
  117. yes. it was. thanks for being so observant. and mature. mitchell could stand to take a chapter or two from your book.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Brandon, Wilbert is trying to dig at me because earlier in this saga, I outed the list of girls he's liked.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  123. mitchell, you're a sophomoric moron who has managed to alienate just about everyone around you. shut up.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  137. i think ryan owes us all a big thank you for the free publicity.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I think Ryan should give us each $5 for the publicity

    ReplyDelete
  139. hell no. you all fought on your own terms. leave me out of this.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Yes, we fought of our own accord, but you've gotten quite a bit of publicity from this little war... GIVE US A CUT!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Well, for Ryan to give us money for posting on his blog, he would have to making money from it.
