Language Audio Files: French I

Before reading this post, note that this is a response to a previous post called "The Need To Speak". Read that if you'd like to know the reasoning behind this.

And so, I've finally uploaded it. I simply feel silly, but I know its for the greater good. Did I mention that I hate the sound of my voice?

Here is the text of what I read:
Student 2: Trois jours seulement?

  1. Good job! Just noticed some mistakes: 1)Don't say the "T" in Montréal.Pronouciation->"Monréal"
    2)Words to improve: énormément,architecture,basilique,indispensable.
Keep up the good work :D

  2. I'd add "siècle", too. Should be closer to "see-ECK-luh".

By the way, if you're ever feeling adventurous, here are a few tongue-twisters:

  3. @Oops
I just tried saying that. Made it to the "chien" then had to stop. lol

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to work on them, however, I don't have anyone here who really speaks French, so I'm at a lost. Maybe you should start making files as well.

  4. Don't know why you were worried -- you have quite a good broadcast voice.

It was hilarious to hear you revert to English with 'indispensable' ;) Try, try again.

One thing I'd suggest is to add a link in the blog post back to your original posting on the motivation for this (The Need to Speak). That way, if someone finds the post on its own, they will know what's going on. Also, makes it more amenable for people to link to the audio posts directly.
